Michael Hunt Michael is the current VP of PBS Information Technology and CIO. He has been acting CIO since March 2001 and most recently served as the Senior Director, Enterprise Systems with PBS Information Technology. He is responsible for setting the technological strategic directions for PBS. This includes the tasks associated with the day-to-day administration of the PBS computing infrastructure, and responsibility for e-commerce efforts, web presence and the myriad activities around the migration to Media Asset Management, Digital Television, Enhanced Television and Interactive Television. Michael has over eighteen years of experience in telecommunications, information technology, and business management. He also has more than eleven years of experience in the public broadcasting community. Michael oversaw the introduction and ongoing operations of most mission-critical applications associated with supporting programming, broadcast operations, and other various business units within PBS. He also served as one of the primary liaisons between PBS and its member stations with regard to data services PBS provides. Michael has been actively participating in the PBS Member Station Information Technology Steering Committee and Information Management Subcommittee.
Prior to joining PBS in 1990, Michael's previous professional experiences include the design of systems for the telecommunications industry and various US government agencies.
