David Shomette Director, IT Administration, PBS Alexandria, Va. David is the Director of IT Administration for PBS. He has held various technical and IT business-oriented positions since arriving at PBS in October of 1994 from a local IT systems integrator. He has been instrumental in the implementation of various station-related IT contracts including the 14-month long negotiation with Microsoft for the Open Educational Agreement. In addition to his responsibility of overseeing a desktop support group at PBS, he has researched, negotiated, and contracted for technologies at PBS including a Storage Area Network and Internet connectivity. Among his proudest achievement is the hiring of over 20 individuals in the IT department over the past two and a half years; many of who have moved throughout the IT organization into key positions.
