The Public Broadcasting Service holds two Broadcast Engineering meetings each year; one in the fall of the year, usually in the eastern part of the country, and a spring Technology Conference, in Las Vegas, coordinated with the National Association of Broadcasters Convention. The Saraha Hotel and Stratosphere, from the Las Vegas Hilton.

This year, this spring meeting, PBS 2001 Technology Conference, will bring together almost 400 broadcast engineers and information technology professionals from PBS stations around the country, at the Alexis Park Resort Hotel in Las Vegas, for three days of discovery and discussion.
This site is designed to provide supporting materials for those who attend this year's Conference, as well as provide a virtual Conference experience for those who are not able to attend. It will exist in its present form (more or less) until April 17, 2001, when it will be revised to become the repository of all collected Conference materials, for download.

This information may change, so you will want to use the"refresh" button on your brower, on a regular basis, to insure you have the most recent page-version stored in cache.

  • This is where you'll connect with any late-breaking news in Conference plans.

  • We're providing information about the Conference social events and the Las Vegas area, to make your trip, actual or virtual, more enjoyable.

  • We're providing separate agenda listings for each day: (as they are released)
    • Friday, April 20, 2001
    • Saturday, April 21, 2001
    • Sunday, April 22, 2001

. . . that will also serve as the "menu system" to reach the presentation materials and other information that is collected for each session. Selecting the active "links" in the Daily Agenda will take you to the related material.

  • There is a reference library, to link you to information about the Las Vegas area and additional technical support materials related to the Conference.

  • There is a section to introduce you to some of the industry partners who made this Conference possible . . . or at least affordable!

  • . . . and finally, there will be a "photo album", to entertain you with images of past Conferences, and photos of the area, in case you don't get out of the casinos during you stay in Las Vegas.
